ENGAGEMENT OF PROGRAM ASSISTANTS
(On Contract)

Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament to be a pioneer in the domain of Transport and Logistics education in India, with a unique mandate to create a resource pool of best-in-class professionals for the entire transportation sector across technology, management and policy comprising multidisciplinary teaching, executive training and research.

GSV invites applications from eligible candidates for the ad-hoc positions of Program Assistants to be engaged on contract for a period of 8 months initially. Provision of re-engagement/ continuation after a review and a short break exists.

The selected candidates will work with the Program Coordinators (Faculty Members) as may be assigned by the Dean (Academics) for their teaching assistance and coordination of various batches/ branches. The roles and responsibilities are as under:

Qualifications / Experience
For Engineering Stream

For Management Stream

M Tech/ ME Degree with at least 60% Marks or equivalent CGPA
Post Graduate Degree in Management with at least 60% Marks or equivalent CGPA
Desirable: Ph.D. (with or without experience). UGC-NET / UGC-JRF / GATE.
Two years’ relevant experience will be an added advantage.

 

Age limit for the potential candidate is 35 years on the closing date of the advertisement (desirable)

Duties and responsibilities

Program Assistants are vital resources to support the Teaching – Learning – coordination and other related academic and administrative activities. In general, the duties and responsibilities of a Program Assistant shall be the following:

  • Conducting tutorials for students, conducting labs etc.
  • Help faculties with recordkeeping, such as taking attendance and calculation/compiling of scores /grades.
  • Coordinating hiring of Visiting Faculty; interacting with them and taking care of their logistics.
  • Help establishing labs, procurements etc.
  • Making equipment or materials ready to help faculties in delivery of lessons including arranging classes.
  • Preparing/monitoring of class schedules.
  • Maintaining of attendance records.
  • Help administering quizzes, tests, assignments and collecting the sub missions from the students.
  • Collecting and compiling course/faculty feedbacks
  • Coordinating summer internships of respective Programs under the guidance of faculty charge (of internship)
  • Maintaining students’ course registration details especially concerning electives.
  • Assisting the Program coordinator with the Program/student related data/information.
  • Any other duty as assigned from time to time.
  • Maintaining Student database.
  • Assisting Admission related works when and if required.
  • Assisting timetable preparation and class room arrangements.
  • Invigilation support and assistance examinations.
  • Floating Google sheets/ creating Google classrooms to elicit various info from students as required from time to time.
  • Processing Supplementary Exam Forms.
  • Collecting and compiling of various student data/information.
  • Assisting consolidation and verification of grades/results.
  • To assist in organizing Institution of events viz. Induction of New batches, Con vocation etc.
  • Any other institutional work assigned

Program Assistants shall report to the respective Program Coordinator [PC) and provide assistance to PCs/Faculty as and when required as an ad-hoc arrangement.

Remuneration:

Monthly consolidated salary in the range of ₹40,000/- to ₹60,000/-. The pay offered will depend on qualification, experience, merit and performance in the interview; as recommended by the selection committee. No other allowance or payment of any sort during the currency of engagement. TA/DA for official tours will be paid as per GSV rules.

General Information:

  • He / she should have good knowledge on the domain area of his/ her specialization.
  • He/she should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • He/ she should have excellent knowledge of computer and software operations.
  • The engagement is purely on contract basis, for the term.
  • The engagement can be terminated at any stage with a 1-month notice, by either side.
  • Upper age limit shall be reckoned as on last date of receipt of application.
  • Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
  • The selection shall be made through personal interview. Candidates should carry all their original documents on qualifications and experience, at the time of interview.
  • Leave of 18 days per annum (@ 1.5 days per completed month of service) shall be admissible. No other kind of leave shall be admissible. On termination/ completion of the contract, you shall not be entitled to the benefit of encashment of the un-availed leave.
  • No correspondence, whatsoever, will be entertained from the candidates regarding postal delays, conduct of interaction or interview, result and reason for not being shortlisted etc.
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  • Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large and it is not feasible or convenient to interview all the candidates, the University at its discretion, may restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications / experience higher than the minimum prescribed for the post or any other criteria as decided by the University. Only short-listed candidates will be invited for test / interview.
  • The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill the positions.
  • The date of interview will be notified on the University website (www.gsv.ac.in) and the same will also be communicated by email (provided in the application form) to the shortlisted candidates. Any change of correspondence address/ email/ phone from the one given in the application form should at once be communicated to the University.
  • Candidates are advised to visit the University website at regular intervals for the update.
  • The University shall process the applications entirely on the basis of information/ documents submitted by the candidates. In case the information / documents is found to be false / incorrect by way of omission or commission, the responsibility and liability shall lie solely with the candidate.
  • Applicants serving in Government/ Public Sector Undertakings (including Boards/ Autonomous Bodies) are required to submit ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer, at the time of test / interview, if not uploaded with the online application earlier.
  • The University reserves the right to revise/ reschedule/ cancel/ suspend/ withdraw the recruitment process in part or full without assigning any reason. The decision of the University shall be final and no appeal in this regard shall be entertained.
  • In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage even after issuing an appointment letter, the University reserves the right to modify / withdraw / cancel any communication made to the applicant in this regard.
  • In case of any dispute / ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final.
  • The last time and date for online application is 2359 Hrs on 30.09.2024.
