ADVERTISEMENT FOR ENGAGEMENT OF PART-TIME STUDENT COUNSELLOR CONSULTANT (VISITING)

Applications are invited from the Indian nationals for a part-time position of Student Counsellor- cum- Consultant position at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, Lalbaug, Vadodara.

Essential Qualification:

M.Phil / PhD in Clinical/ Counseling/ Medical & Social (M&SP) Psychology from Govt. recognized National/ regional specialty Institutes/ Universities of National Importance viz. NIMHANS/CIP/ IHBAS /NFSU

Candidates who have served similar Institutes Higher Education Institutions will be given preference.

Experience: Minimum 15+ years of experience,

Providing comprehensive mental health services containing clinical/ diagnostic / therapeutic / prognostic evaluations, formulations of both short term/ long terms/ emergency/ rehabilitative plans and execution of various therapeutic / counseling strategies for all/ prevailing major and/or minor mental health diagnostic/ subclinical categories, personality and temperamental disorders as well as stress and lifestyle disorders with psychological and/or physical manifestations across all age/ gender groups in coordination with the other mental health specialists such as Psychiatrist/ Neurophysician / medical doctor.

Developing counseling / therapeutic services in academic institutes viz school/ colleges/ general hospital/ industrial/ IT or other human intensive set- up including developing relevant systems/protocols/ inter phase of counseling services for student/adult populations in accordance with relevant Mental Health policy framework

1. Job Requirement:

• The job would involve active counselling of students largely in the 16-28 age groups during visiting hours in all the relevant situations as detailed above.
• Setting up information flow within institutional stakeholders , faculty, administrative staff, other health specialists for maximum therapeutic benefits and preventive aspects of medical/ academic/ legal complications for student population and organization.
• Bridging between different components of Student Welfare Committee and between student and different components of Student Welfare.
• Organizing at least one mental health workshop (involving a suitable agency, if required)
• Requires good oral, written skills, ability to communicate adequately with diverse students and employ
• Proficiency in the use of a variety of computer office applications, M.S Word, Excel, Power- point or equivalent is a must.

2. Age– Not Below 40 Years

3. Remuneration. 50,000/- per month (consolidated)

4. Working Days – 03 days a week (Preferably – Monday, Wednesday and Friday)

5. Duration of visit – 03 hours per visit (4-6pm); total around 40 hours in a month. To be available for online support on call, to students

6. Duration of contract – 09 months and extendable for subsequent Academic Years, after performance evaluation

b) In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage even after issue of the appointment letter, the office reserves the right to modify, withdraw or cancel any communication made to the Applicants.

c) Place a reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for the Interview.
