Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) has been entrusted with the mandate to conduct multi-disciplinary Executive Training Programs for Indian Railways (IR) Officers vide Railway Board letter No. 2022/E(Trg)/37/3 (Pt-5) dated January 21, 2025. GSV has been delivering the following multi-disciplinary programs for Indian Railways Officers:
- Group 'B' Foundation Program (BFP): A mandatory multi-disciplinary program designed for railway officials from field units, headquarters, and the Railway Board who have been promoted or inducted to Group 'B'. It introduces officers to the working/activities of all departments, develop team working, ethos, understanding basic management concepts as well as to feel individual’s responsibility towards overall functioning of IR and take pride in the organisation. Three-week module will be covered by GSV on-campus at Vadodara. One week Disaster Management Module will be covered by IRIDM, Bangalore in terms of Railway Board Letter No. 2022/E(Trg)/30/17 dated 20.09.2023.
- Management Development Program (MDP): A mandatory multi-disciplinary program (as per cadre training plan of railways officers/Board’s letter no. 2013/E(Trg)/6/19 dated 30.01.2014) for Senior Scale Officers of IR for their promotion to JA Grade. It re-introduces officers to the functioning of various railway departments and develop the managerial perspective and effectiveness involving co-ordination and team approach for taking up role of middle management as branch officers. Three-week module will be covered by GSV on-campus at Vadodara. Disaster Management Module will be covered by IRIDM, Bangalore in terms of Railway Board Letter No. 2022/E(Trg)/30/17 dated 20.09.2023.
- Strategic Management Programs (SMP):Specialized executive programs designed for senior leadership in Indian Railways:
- 5-day Strategic Management Program (SMP) for SAG Officers
- 5-day Strategic Management Program (SMP) for HAG Officers
- 5-day Strategic Management Program (SMP) for ADRMs
- 5-day Strategic Management Program (SMP) for DRMs
- Other Executive Development Programs: Specialized programs as advised or directed by the Railway Board from time to time.
