The Office of the Dean, Executive Continuing Education (ECE), at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya serves as the nodal entity for planning, designing, and delivering executive education and capacity-building programs for Indian Railways, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), other Government Organizations, and the private sectors in the field of logistics and transportation. This includes conducting the Management Development Programs (MDPs) and Advanced Management Programs (AMPs) for Indian Railway officers as mandated by the Ministry of Railways in addition to other technical programs to upskill the knowledge base of executives to keep pace with the advancements in the industry. The office ensures that all programs are aligned with institutional objectives, stakeholder requirements, and national priorities, while maintaining high standards of academic rigor and practical relevance.
Scope and Functions of the Dean ECE Office
1. Program Planning and Development: Conceptualizing and structuring executive education programs based on stakeholder needs and emerging sectoral requirements.
2. Stakeholder Coordination: Acting as the primary interface with sponsoring organizations for requirement analysis, program design, and finalization.
3. Customized Course Design: Developing tailored training programs aligned with the operational and strategic objectives of client organizations.
4. Compliance with Institutional and Ministry Mandates: Ensuring adherence to guidelines, standards, and directives issued by the University.
5. Nomination of Program Leadership: Appointing Course Directors and Course Coordinators for effective academic leadership and operational execution.
6. Approval and Governance Processes: Securing necessary approvals and issuing guidelines for the smooth conduct of programs.
7. Strategic Oversight and Monitoring: Providing overall supervision and mentorship, while monitoring program implementation at a macro level.
8. Financial Oversight: Maintaining a broad oversight of program finances, including budgeting, revenue tracking, and payments.
9. Resource Management: Ensuring optimal utilization of faculty, infrastructure, and technological resources for program delivery.
10. Resource Person Database Management: Maintaining and updating a database of resource persons from academia and industry to facilitate delivery of specialized sessions on relevant topics.
11. Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Incorporating participant feedback, evaluating outcomes, and updating programs in line with emerging trends and best practices, including inputs from industry and academia.
12. Alumni and Network Development: Maintaining engagement with alumni to foster professional networks, mentorship, and collaboration opportunities.
