Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya Counselling Service
"Shelters on the Journey"
Ensuring the holistic well-being of every GSV stakeholder is the guiding motto of the
GSV Counselling Cell, aptly named "Shelters on the Journey".
In today’s highly competitive environment, it is not unusual to experience social,
personal, academic, or emotional challenges in our day-to-day lives. At such times,
slowing down, resting for a while, listening more deeply, and cherishing everyday moments
become essential for restoring balance and strengthening our inner resilience.
Distractions and disturbances tend to increase when the pressure to excel becomes
overwhelming, often leading to emotional or psychological turmoil and a loss of peace
of mind. The GSV Counselling Service offers the support of a full-time counsellor, who is
a mentor, a listener, and a trusted friend in whom you can truly confide.
This service helps students gain deeper clarity about the issues that concern them,
while empowering them to handle personal, family, and peer-related challenges
effectively. In the process, it also strengthens their ability to manage academic
responsibilities with greater maturity and confidence.
Our Student Counsellor, Ms. Keta S. Thaker, is available in the
Academic Block, Room No. F002. Appointments can be scheduled via email at
counselling@gsv.ac.in or by phone at
8958742852. She is a qualified and experienced therapist who
provides a comfortable, safe, and confidential environment where students can speak freely,
without fear or stigma.
Just like physical health, mental and emotional well-being also require continuous care.
Seeking counselling is a positive and proactive step toward making mature choices and
taking appropriate actions for a better future.
Remember: Comparison is the thief of joy and growth. Each of us has been created
uniquely and wonderfully by the Creator.
A mango tree never competes with a jasmine plant – each blooms in its own time.
While it is easy to point an accusing finger at others, not many will lift a finger to put
things right.
Seek counselling for your betterment.
